1975: The LDTI was renamed as “Power Systems Training Institute” (PSTI) to cover other facets of power system operation also.
2002: W.e.f April, 2002 PSTI is merged with NPTI.
Power Systems Training Institute (PSTI) is conducting high quality training courses in various facets of power systems since 1972. It is an established name in the Indian power sector. PSTI is located in its own 18 acre campus with office buildings, Laboratories, hostel, Guest house, Canteens and Residential colony. The Institute is headed by a Principal Director.
History: In the context of acute need for properly trained personnel to man the various state and regional load despatch centres, Central Electricity Authority (CEA) which is an attached office of Ministry of Power, Government of India established Load Despatch Training Institute(LDTI) at Bangalore in 1972. Training courses on economic load despatch techniques were conducted. The institute was renamed as Power Systems Training Institute (PSTI) in 1975, in order to cover other factes of power sytems also.
With effect from 1stApril 2002, PSTI is merged with National Power Training Institute (NPTI) which is an ISO 9001:2000 organisation under Ministry of Power, Government of India.
