The institute was renamed as Power Systems Training Institute (PSTI) in 1975, in order to cover other factes of power sytems also., With effect from 1stApril 2002, PSTI is merged with National Power Training Institute (NPTI) which is an ISO 9001:2000 organisation under Ministry of Power, Government of India.
