Located in The PES Degree College, Bangalore, Karnataka was established by the Peoples Education Society (PES) in July, 1980. The PES was founded in the year 1972 by Prof. M. R. Doreswamy, a dynamic and multi-faceted personality. The college is affiliated to the Bangalore University. The management of the Peoples Education Society is running thirteen educational institutions other than PES Degree College. The College is situated in a campus area of 2.25 acres The College is situated in a campus area of 2.25 acres. The built up area of the Unit -I Hanumathnagar Campus is 7255 Sq. mts. This includes Principal's Chamber, Office, 27 Class rooms, 9 Laboratories, Library, Auditorium, Indoor Stadium, Conference Room and Ladies Waiting Room. The built up area of Unit-II PESIT Campus is 4371 Sq. mts.. The remaining departments such as Department of Business Management, Department of Computer Applications and Department of Biotechnology (PG) are situated in unit-II, which is approximately 3 Kms away from Unit-I campus. The total built up area of the PES College is 11,626 Sq. mts. The College provides co-education and caters mainly to the needs of the rural, as well as, the urban students., The mission of the Society is to provide the students a sound sense of history, an understanding of values and ethics, a commitment to law and morality, an appreciation of human creativity and an analytical enquiring mind. The specific goals and objectives of the College are to make the College to emerge as one of the best colleges in all disciplines. Every student should be prepared effectively and competently for the real world and to groom every student of the College so that he can acquire a distinct personality in tune with the objectives of the Society, the College has set its goals to provide value-based, disciplined, socially committed, and scientifically sound education to students so as to prepare them for becoming responsible citizens of India. The admission is open to all irrespective of caste, creed, gender and nationality. The College strives hard to promote national integration and to achieve goals as enshrined in the Constitution., Presently, the College has a faculty strength of 86(26 permanent and 60 temporary staff) as against the strength of 1965 students. There are 14 teachers with Ph. D. qualification and 6 are M. Phil.. The Management of the College has striven hard to make the institution cater to the modern day needs. The institution is run on grant-in-aid and self-finance basis. The College has UG and PG courses in Faculty of Science and Bachelor of Commerce and Business Management Course in the Faculty of Commerce. The recently started Bachelor of Business Management is run on self-financing basis. The College has been recognized by UGC under 2f and 12B, from April, 1989.The College authorities volunteered that the institution is to be subjected to assessment and accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore. A self-study report along with all supportive documents was submitted. NAAC constituted a Peer Team with Prof. C.K.Kokate (Chairman), Former Vice-Chancellor, Kakatiya University, Dr.S.V.Sudheer, Principal, Sree Narayana College, Cherthala, Kerala, and Prof. Prakash .G. Puranik, Director, PG Department and Research Academy, Sevadal Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur, Maharashtra, as Members. Dr. M.S.
