Physiotherapists identify and maximize movement potential through health promotion, preventive health care, treatment and rehabilitation.
Physiotherapists are as essential as doctors in helping recover and rehabilitate a patient from a state if incapacity, due to genetic defect or the result of an accident or an illness.
Physiotherapy is a preventative and remedial procedure often alongside oral medication.
It helps in the optimal functioning of the body and is strongly recommended for people with degenerative disorders, the physically challenged, sports people, heart patients, accident victims and those suffering from disease like arthritis, rheumatism and neurological disorders.
It also includes heat radiation, water therapy, massages, diathermy, traction and other procedures.

Physiotherapy is a health care profession primarily concerned with the remediation of impairments and disabilities and the promotion of mobility, functional ability, quality of life and movement potential through examination, evaluation, diagnosis and physical intervention carried out by physiotherapists. In addition to clinical practice, other activities encompassed in the physical therapy profession include research, education and administration.

Physiotherapists are healthcare professionals who diagnose and treat individuals of all ages, from newborns to very oldest, who have medical problems or other health - related conditions, illnesses, or injuries that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities as well as they would like in their daily lives. Physiotherapists use an individual's history and physical examination to arrive at a diagnosis and establish a management plan and, when necessary, incorporate the results of laboratory and paging studies.

Physiotherapy intervention has many specialties including orthopaedic, neurology, cardiopulmonary, sports rehabilitation, pediatrics, geriatrics, head injuries, post operative rehabilitation and wound care. Physiotherapist practice in many settings, such as outpatient clinics, health and wellness clinics, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, extended care facilities, multispecialty clinics or hospitals, community and home based rehabilitation, education, research centers and sports training facilities.
