About Bethesda Primary Teachers Education College, Ranchi

Bethesda Primary Teacher's Education College is a religious minority institution of Gossener Evangelical Lutheran Church registered under Society Registration Act XXI 1860 dated 30th July. It was established in 1948 and got recognition on 2nd January 1952 by the Department of Education, Bihar. The Institution started off as a Junior Training School initially and in 1962 it was upgraded as Senior Training School. Later, in 1971 it was declared as Primary Teacher's Education College and still continues to bear this name.

Now the Institution is recognized by the National Council for Teacher's Education (NCTE) Eastern Regional Committee Bhuwneshwar as well as affiliated by Jharkhand Academic Council, Ranchi.

The Gossner Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chotanagpur and Assam has established and administers the Bethesda Primary Teachers' Education College, Ranchi under the Fundamental Rights guaranteed by Article 30 of the Constitution of India, primarily for students professing the Christian faith, but also admits others irrespective of caste, creed and colour but while admitting students appointing lecturers the organization shall maintain Regional character and shall see that the institution maintains an atmosphere which respects and promotes Christian values...
