Government Mining Technical Institute, Koderma, falling within the territorial jurisdiction of the State of Jharkhand was established in the year 1958 as ears while Diploma level Mining Institute by the Department of Science and Technology, predecessor State of Bihar, to train the mining personnel’s to cater the need of middle level man powers of mining and mineral based industries. Now, it has been oriented towards Government Polytechnic conducting various Diploma courses in processing valuable human resources for industry and society in general. After the coming into being of the State of Jharkhand on November 15th, 2000 this institute is currently attaining new heights with the passage of time under efficient guidance control of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Jharkhand, Ranchi. The institute is totally funded by the State Government.
