Al-Kabir Polytechnic (AKP) was founded in 1990 in the Steel City of Jamshedpur, the industrial heart of Jharkhand. It was born of the mission and the foresightedness of the people of the Trust and was nurtured by the selfless and dedicated efforts of the Founder and the Chairman of Kabir Welfare Trust Haji Abdul Hakim. It was a long cherished desire of the Kabir Welfare Trust to establish a Technical Institute to benefit the minority and other backward communities of the Chhotanagpur region as well as the rest of the nation. The idea was conceived and after much sweat and toil, K.W.T. achieved its goal and Al-Kabir Polytechnic was established in 1990.
A dynamic, industrious and prudent principal, along with highly efficient and effective team of faculty members, leads the college. It is indeed a pleasure to admit that we have progressed rapidly to achieve the goal of imparting quality education to the students.In future Kabir Welfare Trust is aiming to start a degree engineering college.

THE CAMPUS
The College campus spread over an area of 12 acre is located in Kabirnagar, having covered area of over 1 lac sqft. It has a magnificent two story Main College Building accommodating Administrative offices, Classrooms, Drawing halls, Library, Laboratories etc, with a beautiful Garden adoring it, a well equipped Workshop,play Ground. there are two spacious Hostel Building with all essential facilities.

Al-Kabir Polytechnic is recognized by State Board of Technical Education (SBTE), Govt. of Jharkhand and approved by All India Council of Technical Education(AICTE), Govt. of India.
