The Jayoti Vidyapeeth Women’s University, Jaipur has been established and incorporated under the Act 17 of 2008 passed by Rajasthan State Legislature and notified by the Government of Rajasthan through its official Gazette Notification No. F.2 (23) Vidhi /2/2008 dated April 21, 2008. The Jyoti Vidyapeeth Trust, a Public Trust, having its registered office in Jaipur, is the Sponsoring Body of the University. The Trust was created by execution of a Trust Deed on 14th November, 2003 under provision of the Registration Act 1908 (Central Act No 16 of 1908) noted at serial number 1417 of the book no 4, in the office of Sub-Registrar, Jaipur II. At present only 8 Women’s Universities exist in India out of which 2 are Deemed Universities and 5 are funded and governed by different State Governments. This present scenario of women education in the country offers Jayoti Vidyapeeth Women’s University the honour and status of becoming the First Private State Women’s University of India.
The University aspires to become a leading centre of excellence for Education, Research, Clinical Care and Training in Professional, Technical and Medicinal Fields to educate women in technically advanced disciplines to inculcate in them the spirit of enterprise and the desire to excel. The University provides a transformational experience where highest integrity, professional commitment and ethics are inbuilt in the training mechanism itself, so that young girls may be transformed in to leaders and cultural ambassadors of tomorrow having an effective personality and ability to address social, economic and technological challenges of the global world.
