      The Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Srinagar Sponsored by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, was established in 1982 for training of candidates in the field of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition. This was the 5th Hotel Management Institute in the country and first in the state of J&K.

      Available College Facilities & Amenities

      List of facilities available at Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology IHMCT, Srinagar for students.

      The library is well stocked with text and reference books on various subjects of Hotel Management and other related/allied areas. It subscribes regularly to a number of acknowledged periodicals and magazines. Library has facility to get books on loan.
      For the development of practical skills, laboratories with required equipments and apparatus have been established. These include Training Kitchens (Basic, Advanced), Training Restaurants (F&B Service) and House Keeping among others. The students are given ample opportunity for individual working to express and demonstrate the acquired skills.
      Sports facilities are available in the campus. Annual Sports event is held in the month of December in every year
      Good transportation facilities for its students, staff members and visiting guests.
      The present separate hostel accommodation is available for 24 boys & 24 girls.

      Proper healthcare arrangements are done by college. Proper Medical Facilities are available
      24-hours internet access for all. Wi-Fi for all
      Extra Curricular Activities have been conducted by institute from time to time for the overall development of the students. The main thrust is given on Co Curricular activities for the development of the proficiency in the subject of French, Spoken English as well as computer applications.
      The Industrial Training is a compulsory part of 2nd year degree course curriculum was arranged for the students in various hotels of the country. During the training the student is expected to work in the Kitchen, F&B Service, Front Office, House Keeping and Sales & Marketing.
      Institute has excellent placement record of its alumni in top notch organisations in hospitality industry.
