The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu) is a public research university located in Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir, India.The Institute came into existence in 2016 when a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Department of Higher Education, Government of Jammu & Kashmir and Department of Higher Education, MHRD, Government of India, was signed, setting the ball rolling to set up an IIT campus at village Jagti, Tehsil Nagrota at Jammu. The State Government has provided the land, measuring 159 hectares for the establishment of Indian Institute of Technology at Jammu.

IIT Jammu will start functioning this year itself from a Temporary campus within Jammu city. The total intake in the 1st year will be 90, 30 each in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The transit Campus spread over 25 acres within the actual site with a built up area of about 2 lakh so. ft. will be operational from the next session (2017 - 18) and will be able to accommodate about 600 students

Mode of payment: Through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of IIT Delhi (IIT Jammu) payable at New Delhi

*Foreign nationals (other than PIO/OCI card holders): US$ 1000+Rs.15300/- (SAARC countries), US$2000+Rs.15300/- (Non-SAARC countries)
**Total fee including Hostel Seat Rent @Rs.5300/- ; non-hostellers need not pay ***Extra payment will be adjusted in subsequent semester fee # Rs.1000/- deducted from processing fee
