Govt College of Physical Education is situated in Ganderbal in Jammu & Kashmir state of India. Established in 1976, and it is affiliated to University of Kashmir. JKGCOPE, Ganderbal offers 2 courses across 2 streams namely Physical Education, Vocational and across 2 degrees like BPEd, MPEd.Hostel facility is available for its students. Additional campus facilities such as Boys Hostel, Canteen, Computer Lab, Convo. Hall, Cultural zone, Guest house, Gym, Mess, Medical Facilities, Cls. Room are also there.

Govt. College of Physical Education is situated in Jammu Kashmir .The Govt. College of Physical Education was started and now in a good condition also. The Govt. College of Physical Education have the hostel facilities and all other infrastructures.Govt. College of Physical Education , Govt. College of Physical Education provide Bachelor degree courses.

The college is presently the only Institute of Jammu and Kashmir state affiliated to University of Kashmir,offering courses in physical education at graduate and post graduate levels.

The Institution was established initially at the old campus of Naseem Bagh University of kashmir in 1976 and was later shifted to Ganderbal at a distance of 22 Km from srinagar city against the picturesque background of the rural charm in the vicinity of shrine of Hazrat Qamar -ud-din Sahib RA.It was setup with the aim to impart physical education to sports persons who intend to adopt sports as profession.

The college is once again in the mode of shifting,after opening Degree college at Ganderbal,it was decided by the government that the present campus will be handed over to the Degree college and new Government Physical college be setup at new convinient place Gadoora, Ganderbal. The process of new campus was started in 2005 and about 255 kanals of land was acquired.Since then the construction of new Physical college at Gadoora, Ganderbal is in full swing,In the first phase the governmemt accorded an approval(AAA) of 3039 lacs for construction of 3 buildings i.e Administrative Block,Boys and girls hostel which is likely to be completed in 2014.
