Course Information & Syllabus
Photonics is a rapidly emerging discipline associated with the generation, manipulation, transmission and detection of light and energy. The aim of this master program is to form engineers and scientists with firm basic knowledge in the field of photonics and skills to apply this knowledge to the design, realization and the management of photonic systems for a broad range of application domains. Also the program includes courses such as Photo-devices, Optical communication networks, Guided wave photonics, Video signal processing etc. which enable the student to expand their knowledge beyond the boundaries of traditional departmental based graduate programs.
Job Opportunities :
There is a global demand for skilled people with Photonics training. A Photonics specialist can work as Engineers, technicians or technologists, research officers in government and industry laboratories and as professional officers in Universities and Government offices. Manufacturing, design, research, development, systems and applications are some of the fields they work in. The range of application of Photonics extends from energy generation and detection to communication and information processing.
