Materials Science is an exciting, multi-disciplinary field that investigates matter and materials across a broad range of scales, interactions, and applications. As the need for lighter, smaller and smarter materials and devices grows, significant advancement in technology is increas¬ingly relying on materials scientists and engineers to design and develop new materials and devices, powerful characterization techniques and novel processing and fabrication technolo¬gies. From nanotechnology to biomaterials, materials scientists develop new materials and techniques, and improve existing ones.
Career Opportunities :
This program will be attractive to students interested in moving directly into industry or the public sector, or continuing on to a Ph.D. program in Materials Science or Physics . Post Gradu-ates of the Materials Science Program will be well prepared to work collaboratively, conduct independent and multidisciplinary research and recognize their role in solving global chal-lenges. On successful completion of the course the candidate can take up jobs in industry as Scientific Officer (Quality Assurance/ Quality Control), Materials Project Manager and Scientist Materials Research and also in academics as Junior Research Fellow in the National Laborato-ries, Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science in various Universities in India and abroad.
