Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Government College, Faridabad, affiliated to Maharashi Dayanand University, Rohtak, was established in 1971. One of the premier educational institutions of the region, the college offers quality education in all the three streams i.e. Humanities, Science and Commerce. The college boasts of 20 graduate and postgraduate departments with some of the most experienced faculty in the state. The college enjoys special attention of both, the State Education Department as well as the UGC, because of its unique location as well as its commitment to pursuit of excellence in education. Thus, the college has been selected as one of the 25 best colleges of Haryana, and will be further developed as a centre of excellence. Located conveniently near the Delhi- Agra National Highway, 10 Kilometers from the Delhi border, the college is situated in sector 16A of the industrial township of Faridabad. Spread over an area of 12.5 acres, the college has extensive facilities for all- round growth of its students. Besides the three academic wings equipped with the latest laboratories, study materials and teaching facilities, the college has a computer centre and separate areas for co- curricular and extra- mural activities.

The college is running evening classes since the session 1973-74, which offers undergraduate curses in Humanities to those who are employed, and yet wish to further their education.The college is an important centre of distance education, and serves as a study centre for both IGNOU and Department of Distance Education, MD University, Rohtak. The Evening session of the college offers select undergraduate courses to those who are employed and yet wish to enhance their career and life- skills. The college has a long tradition of excellence in academics, sports and cultural activities, and our students continue to bring laurels in various state, national and international competitions. We are extremely proud of our alumni who occupy important posts in the major corporate and administrative services of the country.
