Dharmsinh Desai Institute of Technology is the First and only Technical University in whole of Gujarat state in India. DDIT, Nadiad is also the only Accredited enginering institute by National Board of Acreditation in Gujarat state.This institute offers graduate, post-graduate and doctoral programmes in Electronics and Communications, Instrumentation and Control, Computer Engg., Chemical Engg., Civil Engg and Information Technology. Management training Centre provides post-graduate education in Management. RandD Centre provides facilities for research and industry oriented research.It is situated about 50 Kms. from both Ahmedabad and Baroda. The Institute is located on the outskirts of Nadiad town (population 0.35 million), in an academic area called College Road. It occupies 42 acers of land. Normal working hours are 8-30 a.m. to 5-30 p.m. (week days) and 8-30 a.m. to 12-30 p.m (Saturday). DDIT, Nadiad was established in 1968 by Late shri Dharmsinh Desai MP from Kaira Dist, with a view to provide engineering and technical education to young persons of Gujarat. Initially only Chemical engineering courses were being offered, but over the years, more and more courses are added to the offerings, and today DDIT is well known throughout, at least western parts of India, as a premier Institute for studies in engineering and technology.
