L. M. College of Pharmacy (LMCP) was founded in 1947 and is named after late Seth Shri Lallubhai Motilal. The prestigious A E S runs the college. L.M.College is the first full-fledged pharmacy college established in India. The college is having permanent affiliation with the Gujarat University and it is approved by All India Council for Technical Education and Pharmacy council of India. The college offers D.Pharm, B.Pharm, M.Pharm and Ph.D. programs. The staff members of the college are motivated and trained and many have experience of more than 20 years. The postgraduate center receives 100% grants from AICTE. The college received financial assistance of more than 1.5 crores Rs. from MHRD and other government agencies in the last decade. The college library is having more than 14,000 books on pharmacy and related subjects and more than 6700 bound volumes. The UG and the PG students are placed in leading pharmaceutical companies, FDA and academic institutions. The college has a strong Alumni association.

There are 300 drug-manufacturing units in Gujarat . The total pharmacy professionals and Pharmacists are 23500 and 12000 respectively. The phenomenal growth of the Pharmaceutical sector in Gujarat is partly attributed to the establishment of L. M. College of Pharmacy in 1947. LM College of Pharmacy (LMCP) was founded in 1947 on a humble donation of Rs. 3.0 lakhs by the family of late Seth Shri Lallubhai Motilal, after whom the college is named. The prestigious The Ahmedabad Education Society runs the college. The society runs more than twenty premier educational institutes in the city of Ahmedabad. L. M. College is the first full-fledged pharmacy college established in India. The total campus area of the institute is 15 acres. The total built-up area of the college and hostel is 8600 sq. met. The area of Pharmacognosy garden is 6078 sq. met and the area of playground is 22932 sq. met. The college was affiliated with Bombay University in 1947. It is affiliated with the Gujarat University from 1950 onwards. The college is situated in the heart of Ahmedabad and is well connected with all the parts of the city. The college is having permanent affiliation with the Gujarat University and it is approved by All India Council for Technical Education and Pharmacy council of India.
