Mainframe is the industry term used for a large computer, which supports thousands of users across the globe. IBM Mainframes have dominated the IT server market for running the mission critical workloads. Ever since the first mainframe was launched in April 1964, IBM mainframes have been known for their reliability, availability, scalability & security. The IBM mainframe is the only platform which is EAL5 (highest security certification) certified, which has never been hacked. It is the chosen server for process hungry mission critical I/O applications. Top 490 of the Fortune 500 enterprises use IBM mainframes. Approximately 70 percent of the world's data still resides on mainframes.
