Indira Educational and Charitable Trust was established nearly half a decade ago and the deed of the trust was executed at Chennai on the 13th of March 2002.

Situated in a bucolic ambience of serenity at the backdrop of a hill at kechilapuram at about 5km from kovilpatti. Punitha Ohm College of Education is approved by NCTE and affiliated to Tamilnadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU), Chennai. Managed by Muthiahpillai Mariammal Educational and Charitable Trust, its annual intake is one hundred students. It is a co-educational institution which imparts standard education bolstered by a galaxy of well-experienced and well-qualified pedagogues.

Kongunadu College of Education was established by the Kongunadu Educational Charitable Trust in December 2007.This College was started with the noble aim of imparting Quality Teacher Education (B.Ed.,) to the rural students who are socially and economically backward in this district. This is the first B.Ed., College started in this district.

Kunja Kousalya Ammal Govindarajan Educational & Charitable Trust being the Educational Agency of KMG College of Education has been given permission and recognition by SRC NCTE Banglore.Vide Order No SRO/NCTE/B.Ed 2006-2007/9182 dt 13/11/2006 to conduct one year B.Ed Course to offer Secondary Teacher Education Programme under the name and style of KMG College of Education at No 1, Railway station Road, Ammananguppam, Gudiyattam, Vellore Dt, Tamil Nadu.
