The college, Jeevan Vikas Mahavidyalaya, Thugaondeo was established in 1996 with mere 40 students in Arts faculty. Now, the college runs Arts, Commerce & Science faculties in Jr. College and Arts faculty in Sr. College serving for more than 600 students under the able guidance of Dr. Devendra Bhongade, the Principal.

n 1968, Late Govidraoji Sitaramji Tompe founded the 'G.S.Tompe Mahavidyalaya Sarvajanik Trust' at Chandur Bazar. The reason behind it was that founder President Late Govidraoji Sitaramji Tompe resident of chandur bazar, was illiterate. In fact to speak about him as illiterate is injustice to him. Because generally illiterate people do not have the foresight which require to have to provide the education to the poor students of nearby areas. Rather it would be proper to speak of him unschooled.

SAS IMS was established by Deep Education Society as an institution oriented towards the cause of need-based education, aiming at optimum growth.
