UDALGURI COLLEGE came into existance on the 20th day of August,1979 as a result of the ceaseless and untiring efforts of the preparatory comittee under the secretaryship of Sri SAILENDRA NATH BRAHMA with a view to offering an oppurtunity to the economically backward people of this vast north eastern region of undivided Darrand District. It may be mentioned here that a Peer Team of NAAC assesed the functioning and achievments of the College and awarded C++ GRADE (68.25%MARKS) to it.

Pub Kamrup College was set up in 1972, initially with Arts Stream by local people led by doyens of this locality. It is still grateful to the then Sita Nath Dhing High School (now, Agdala Chariali High School) for providing temporary accomodation for its functioning since Angust 21, 1972 to 1975. The College was accredited at ‘B’ level after the first assessment in 2004. The College is preparing to invite the National Council for the second assessment shortly.

Since its inception in 1964, it has been wholeheartedly dedicated to cater to the requirements of the poor and the needy students of the district. For the first two decades following its establishment, the college imparted education in the Arts Stream only.
