Dinhata College, established in 1956, is one of the oldest college in Dinhata. It offers undergraduate courses in arts, commerce and sciences. The campus is in the Cooch Behar district. It is affiliated to University of North Bengal.

It was in November 1981 that Mahatma Gandhi College was established at Lalpur, Purulia. From the date of foundation it is absolutely clear that the college is reasonable a new one.
