Pope's College of Sawyerpuram is a revival in 1962 of one of the oldest colleges in South India, which functioned as far back as in 1880. It is one of the two aided colleges in the management of the Thoothukudi - Nazareth Diocese of the Church of South India and is affiliated to the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University.

Sri Kumara Gurupara Swamigal Arts College, Srivaikuntam is affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar (MS) University, Tirunelveli and approved by University Grants Commission. Sri Kumara Gurupara Swamigal Arts College, Srivaikuntam was established in 1961.

Situated in a bucolic ambience of serenity at the backdrop of a hill at kechilapuram at about 5km from kovilpatti. Punitha Ohm College of Education is approved by NCTE and affiliated to Tamilnadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU), Chennai. Managed by Muthiahpillai Mariammal Educational and Charitable Trust, its annual intake is one hundred students. It is a co-educational institution which imparts standard education bolstered by a galaxy of well-experienced and well-qualified pedagogues.

Our esteemed institution is run by the Thoothukudi – Nazareth Diocese. The Rt. Rev. Dr. J.A.D. Jebachandran, M.A., B.D., D.D., is the first Bishop of our Diocese. He guides and leads all institutions in our diocese especially our college in which he is the secretary. There are 15 governing Board Members who gather together. Once in every semester to discuss about the welfare of the College.

V. O. Chidambaram College, Thoothukudi was established in 1951 by the founder-secretary, Kulapathy A. P. C. Veerabahu. The founder-secretary started the college to open up the portals of higher education to the economically and gender wise discriminated sections hailing from the backward areas of southern districts.
