Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar College" (formerly Belonia College) is one of the oldest college among 22 general degree colleges of Tripura. It is situated in South Tripura District and about 90 Kms away from Agartala, the capital of Tripura. It has been in the fore-front among the colleges in advancement of education and other curricular activities. The college has been established on 22nd May 1964 under the affiliation to the University of Calcutta.

Michael Madhusudan Dutta College is at South Tripura District, approximately 130 kilometers away from the capital of the state. Bus, jeep, etc. various types of conveyance are available to cover this enjoyable journey of around 3.5 hrs. The southern edge of Tripura, Sabroom, was once covered with dense forest and almost a free zone for wild animals like, deer, bear, tiger and elephant. However, the communication network and planned forestry has converted the Sub-Division into a natural garden.
