Sreekrishnapuram V.T. Bhattathiripad College under the management of 'Sree Sankara Trust' started functioning in December 1982 at the 'Agrasala' of Pachayil Temple. The college is named after Sri. N.S.S. College, Ottapalam, affiliated to the University of Calicut was born out of the dreams of the great visionary and social reformer, Bharata Kesari Sri. Mannath Padmanabhan. It was consecrated by Swami Vishadanandha, President of Sree Ramakrishna Ashram, Palappuram and was formally inaugurated by Mrs. Prabhakaran Thampan on 10th July 1961. In July 1962 it was upgraded and was shifted to the present site.
The college is the fulfillment of a long cherished ambition of our Ezhuthacan community. We have a glorious past in education and learning. Probably we are the only one community in the whole of India with teaching as a a hereditary calling.
The long cherished dream of upgrading the college was fulfilled in October 1991, when B.Sc. Course in Physics was sanctioned. Dr. T.K. Ravindran, former Vice Chancellor of the Calicut University inaugurated the upgradation of the college on 4th November 1991 and Late Sri. M.K. Raghavan, former Manager, Sree Narayana Colleges presided over the function. B.Com., BBA and B.Sc. Polymer Chemistry Degree Courses were started in the year 1993-94, 95-96 and 98-99 respectively.
