The social Reformer and visionary personality Late Dr. Karmaveer Mamasaheb Jagdale, established Shri Shivaji Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Barshi in 1934 with noble objective of enlightening the ignorant, illiterate and suppressed people in the rural area around Barshi town. Nowadays so many branches from K.G. to P.G. in academic, professional and medical fields have been striving hard to realize the dream of the founder by giving quality education in schools and colleges run by it.

Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji College was established in June 1959; it was immediately after the inception of Marathwada University. This was first college in old Osmanabad district to start science faculty. Expensive science faculty was a great difficulty, but our venerable members were well determined to keep it going since the beginning. The college has been named after the great warrior of Maharashtra Chhatrapati Shivaji.
