Gaya College, Gaya is a premier institution of Higher Education in Bihar. The College was established in 1944. With the inception of Magadh University at Bodh-Gaya, the College became a constituent unit of the University in 1962.

The College was established in the year 1970 by the 14th Mahantha Shri ShriMahantha Shatanand Giri of Bodh Gaya keeping the need of talented student of the subdivision into consideration The memorable patrons of the past are Late Mahanth Jai Ram Giri, Late Mahanth Din Dayal Giri, Late Ramaballav Prasad Singh (Balababu), Late Yamuna Prasad Singh and devoted founder teachers and non-teaching employees of the college.
