The college was established by Sri Jayaram Educational Trust in 2002 with 3 branches viz. CSE, EEE and ECE. It came under CavinKare Management in March 2010 and the name of the college has been changed from Sri Jayaram Engineering College to CK College of Engineering & Technology (CKCET) with the same code number and now the college offers 5 branches viz. Civil, CSE, EEE, ECE (2 Divisions) and Mech. (2 Divisions) in UG and Applied Electronics in PG and also MBA.

The CK College of Engineering & Technology CKCET, Cuddalore formerly known as Sri Jayaram Engineering College was established in the year 2002. CKCET is one of the premier engineering institutions in Tamil Nadu with international standards. It is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The college has obtained ISO 9001:2015 certification from TUV NORD and accredited with NAAC.
