Pathanamthitta is a district in the in the state of Kerala. It is the administrative capital of Pathanamthitta district. Average literacy rate of Palakkad in 2011 were 89.31 compared to 84.35 of 2001. If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy were 93.10 and 85.79 respectively. The district of Pahtanamthitta has two educational districts namely Tiruvalla and Pathanamthitta. , the district does not have any university, it has many colleges and most of the colleges in the district are affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University located at Kottayam.
