Established in 1972, Khagarijan College is one of the premier colleges of Assam. Nestled amidst sylvan surroundings, it is located on the outskirts of the town of Nagaon , beside the Nagaon- Dakhinpat road. Prior to being provincialised , the college was under the deficit system of grants-in-aid of the State government.

The inception of Tinsukia College in the year 1956 was the result of the strenuous efforts of late B.K. Saraswatji who mobilized all required resources with the help of like minded citizens of Tinsukia district to give rise to this great institution.
