Mahatma Gandhi College was started in 1992 as an affiliated College of Acharya Nagarjuna University by Sri Vasavi Academy of General and Technical Education, Guntur, a registered non-profit society with the cherished objective of promoting technical and higher education. The college was established on July 4th, 1945 as W.G.B.College and later renamed as D.N.R.College in the year 1964 in appreciation of the memorable services rendered by the Founder Secretary & Correspondent Late Sri DANTULURI NARAYANA RAJU. This College is renowned as a pioneering institute of higher learning and enjoyed a place of pride under the illustrious leadership of the stalwarts since inception.

GOKUL Institute of Technology and Sciences (GITAS) has been approved by the AICTE, New Delhi for 720 seats in B.Tech with 5 branches and 216 seats in M-Tech course with 10 specializations, 60 seats in MCA, and 60 seats in MBA courses. Further the 2nd shift Polytechnic college was also sanctioned for 480 intake. GITAS is Approved by AICTE New-Delhi, recognized by Govt. of A.P. and affiliated to JNTU, Kakinada. It is also accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) by AICTE New-Delhi.
