Usha Martin University (UMU), Ranchi, located in Jharkhand, has officially announced the commencement of admissions for its PhD Program for the year 2024. Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree from any Recognized University or Equivalent Institution in the relevant subject with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade. Relaxation in marks is applicable for candidates from SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy layer)/ Differently-Abled and other specified categories, as per UGC & Govt. of India guidelines. Those who have qualified UGC (JRF) Examinations/ NET/ SET/ SLET or possess an M.Phil degree can directly appear for the interview.

Selection Procedure
Candidates (Indian or Foreign) become eligible for admission after successfully passing an Entrance Examination conducted by the University. The Entrance Exam consists of a question paper divided into two parts, each carrying 50 marks. It includes 100 multiple-choice questions covering Logical Reasoning, Numerical Ability, Language Competence (50%), and subject domain knowledge (50%). Additionally, eligible candidates must appear for an interview conducted by the University’s appointed Committee.
