Eligibility Criteria

- Age Limit: For undergraduate programmes, the candidate must be between 16-22 years of age as of 31st December of the admission year. For postgraduate programmes, there is no age limit.

For undergraduate programmes: The candidate must have passed 10+2 with PCM/PCB/PCMB/Agri. with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates).
For postgraduate programmes: The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates).
For doctoral programmes: The candidate must have a Master’s degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 65% marks (60% for SC/ST candidates).

The UPCATET exam is conducted in offline mode (pen and paper-based). The exam consists of 200 multiple choice questions (MCQs) with a duration of 3 hours. Here are the details of the exam pattern:
- For undergraduate programmes: The exam consists of 200 MCQs, with 50 questions from each subject (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and Agriculture).
- For postgraduate programmes: The exam consists of 200 MCQs, with 50 questions from the relevant subject and 50 questions from General Knowledge.
- For doctoral programmes: The exam consists of 200 MCQs, with 75 questions from the relevant subject and 25 questions from Research Methodology and Statistics.
