Important Dates
- Last date of receiving application: 28th March, 2024 (at the Office of the Department of Applied Mathematics).
- List of eligible candidates will be displayed: 2nd April, 2024 (on the notice board of the Department).
- Tentative date for written examination (in offline mode at the Department of Applied Mathematics): 16th April, 2024.
- Tentative date of publication of result: 23rd April, 2024 (Result will be displayed on the notice board of the Department).
- Tentative date for viva-voce (in offline mode at the Department of Applied Mathematics): 30th April, 2024
Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s degree in related subjects with minimum marks is required for admission.
- Candidates who have already qualified in UGC-CSIR (JRF) Examinations, NET, SET, SLET, GATE, or have obtained DST INSPIRE Fellowship, Teacher fellowship, or have passed equivalent examinations, or completed M. Phil, M. Tech, M.D, M.E, M. Pharma, or equivalent examinations are exempted from appearing in the Ph.D. entrance test.
Application Process
The application form template is accessible on the University's website www.caluniv.ac.in.
Applicants are required to fill out the application form and submit it along with a receipt of Rs.100/- paid online through SBI Collect (URL: https://www.onlinesbi.sbi/sbicollect/icollecthome.htm) or at the University Cash Counter using a challan obtained from the University Sales Counter at the C.U. College Street Campus.
Selection Process
Selection will be determined by both the Entrance Test and Interview.
Reservation norms will be adhered to as per the West Bengal State Higher Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Rules 2013.
Entrance Test Pattern:
Tentative date for the written examination (in offline mode at the Department of Applied Mathematics): April 16th, 2024.
Distribution of Marks and Qualifying Marks for the Written Examination:
- Full Marks for the written Examination: 100 (50 Multiple Choice Questions and 50 Short type).
- Qualifying marks: 50 out of 100 for general candidates; For SC/ST candidates and OBC candidates as per rule.
Syllabus: Same as the M. Sc. CBCC Syllabus of the Department of Applied Mathematics, University of Calcutta.
