For Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) :

  • Start of application November 15, 2023
  • Last date of receipt of application for Phase I admission July 25, 2024
  • Counseling & Phase I admission July 25 – July 31, 2024
  • Commencement of Classes August 1, 2024
  • Last date of receipt of application for Phase II admission against vacant seat September 25, 2024

For Master in Physiotherapy (MPT)

  • BPT : 50 seats

Eligibility Criteria

For BPT Program:

  • Candidates must have passed the (10+2) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
  • General candidates should have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (PCB) and a minimum of 50% marks in English separately from a recognized Board/University.
  • SC/ST/OBC candidates should have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (PCB) and a minimum of 50% marks in English separately from a recognized Board/University.

For MPT Program:

  • Candidates must have passed the Bachelor of Physiotherapy examination from a full-time, in-campus BPT course program from an institution/university duly recognized by the Indian Association of Physiotherapists.
  • They should have secured a minimum of 55% of marks in aggregate for all candidates.
  • Candidates who are presently doing their BPT internship are also eligible to apply, but their admission to the course program is subject to their internship completion on or before August 14, 2024.

Note: Candidates applying under the General Category will be provided with a scholarship.

Application Process

  • Eligible candidates can apply online through the official website https://smu.edu.in/.
  • The cost of the application form is Rs. 1000/-. There is no extra charge for the prospectus on the purchase of the application form.

Submission of Application Forms

  • Candidates should read the instructions carefully before filling out the application form.
  • Once completed, the application form along with copies of necessary documents supporting any reserved category claims should be sent to the Admission Officer at the following address:

Admission Procedure

  • For BPT: Admission will be based on the inter-se merit of the candidates, determined by the percentage of aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) secured in the 10+2 (or equivalent) qualifying examination. Candidates interested in BPT should apply online at www.smu.edu.in and upload the required documents.
  • For MPT: Admission will be based on the inter-se merit of the candidates, determined by the percentage of aggregate marks secured in BPT examinations. In case of a tie in percentage aggregate marks, the candidate's date of birth will be considered, and preference will be given to the senior candidate. Candidates interested in MPT should apply online at www.smu.edu.in and upload the required documents.
