The syllabus for the RIE CEE 2025 exam has been determined by the National Council of Educational Research and Training, the organization responsible for conducting the examination. This syllabus has been made available on the official exam website.
The Regional Institute of Education Common Entrance Examination (RIE CEE) is conducted for admission to four branches of the institute, located in Ajmer, Mysore, Bhopal, and Bhubaneshwar.
This examination aims to fill a total of 240 seats across all four branches of the Regional Institute of Education. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to pursue combined courses in B.Sc. Ed in Physical Science and B.Sc. Ed in Biological Science.

Syllabus for CEE-2025
- Language Proficiency indicating specific areas like comprehension, rearranging sentences,
selecting suitable words for the blanks, finding out errors in parts of the sentences, finding
out equivalent meaning to the given phrases, finding out suitable words for the incomplete
sentences, sequencing, grammar which includes synonyms, antonyms, idioms,
prepositions, tenses, articles. - Teaching Aptitude will cover specific areas like attitude towards education, children, and
teaching profession; interest in teaching; leadership qualities & group management;
emotional & social adjustment; intrapersonal & interpersonal skills; digital initiatives and
pedagogy, NEP 2020, and school education, NCF-SE-2023 and general awareness of
contemporary issues pertaining to school education. - Reasoning Ability indicating specific areas like verbal & non-verbal reasoning, missing
numbers, number series, letter series, theme finding, jumbling, analogy, odd one out,
arranging the statements in a sequential form, statement and conclusions, syllogism, logical
problems, establishing relationships.
Areas for Common Entrance Examination
- Separate Questions will be prepared for the following groups:
- Level – 1 : B.Sc.B.Ed./B.A.B.Ed./M.Sc.Ed.(Mysuru)
- Level – 2: B.Ed./B.Ed.-M.Ed.
- Level – 3: M.Ed.
- Level of the question paper will be as given below:
- Level -1 – The level of questions will be such as expected of the candidate completing higher secondary/senior secondary education
- Level -2 – The level of questions will be such as expected of the candidate completing graduation
- Level –3- The level of questions will be such as expected of the candidate completing graduation and professional education level
- For all the levels, the areas to be tested are
- Language Proficiency
- Teaching Aptitude/Attitude
- Reasoning Ability
- Medium of Test Booklets will be only in English and Hindi.
- Total number of test items will be 80 and duration of test will be 120 minutes.
- Correct answer(s) will carry 2 marks each, Wrong answer(s) will carry negative marking of (minus) -0.5 marks each and Question(s) unattended will carry no marks.
Highlights of the RIE CEE Exam Pattern
Listed below are a few highlights of RIE CEE exam:
- Groups: The exam is bifurcated into three groups viz. Group A (B.Sc.B.Ed/ BA.B.Ed/M.Sc.B.Ed), Group B (B.Ed) and Group C (M.Ed)
- Group A will have questions formed out of higher secondary/ senior secondary level syllabi; for Group B, the questions will be framed out of the graduation level syllabus; whereas, Group C will have questions carved out of the graduation as well as the professional level syllabus.
- No. and type of Questions: 80 objective types of questions. Out of 80 questions, Language Proficiency in English 20 questions, Teaching Aptitude/Attitude 30 questions and Reasoning Ability 30 questions weightage will be given.
- Duration of Exam: 120 minutes
- No. of test booklets: Only one set of booklet will be prepared for each group.
- Medium of Exam: Only in English and Hindi (except for the language proficiency section)
- Marking Scheme: A correct answer will carry +2 marks, an incorrect answer will deduct 0.5 marks and unattended questions will carry no marks
Exam Pattern
RIE CEE exam pattern is such that the question paper will be divided into three sections, which covers the total of 80 questions of 160 marks. The total duration of exam is two hours.

Marking Scheme: Two marks will be awarded for each correct answer. There will be a negative marking of 0.5 marks for each incorrect answer. No marks will be awarded for a question unattended.

(Two Year) which run at Regional Institute of Education (RIE) Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysore and Shillong. Also you can opt for consideration of your application for the admission in B.Sc. B.Ed.
