PUMDET 2025 will be conducted on the exam date decided by WBJEEB. The Presidency University Master Degree Entrance Test (WBJEE PUMDET) is a University level Common entrance exam organized by WBJEEB, also known as West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board. PUMDET, which stands for Presidency University Master’s Degree Entrance Test, is an essential examination for students aspiring to pursue postgraduate studies at Presidency University, Kolkata, India. The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board was formed in the year 1962 for the purpose of holding Common Entrance Examinations for admission to the Undergraduate Level Engineering Courses in the State of West Bengal.
The endeavour of the Board has always been directed towards enhancement of transparency in conducting Common Entrance Examinations for various Undergraduate and Postgraduate level courses in the State through effective state-of-the-art technology.

- Applicants must be a citizen of India.
Age Limit
- There is no upper or lower age limit.
Educational Qualifications :
- Candidates who have passed or appearing B.A. (Hons) / B.Sc. (Hons) final examination in 2023 from any recognized University, are eligible to apply for and appear in PUMDET-2023.
- Candidates, who have appeared for their final B.A. (Hons)/B.Sc. (Hons) examination, but do not have their final results at the time of counselling, will have to mandatorily produce all original mark sheets/grade cards of all semester/annual exams passed at the Bachelor’s level. Such candidates must fulfill the academic eligibility norms for their applied course.
- Candidates, who have appeared for their final B.A. (Hons)/B.Sc. (Hons) examination, but do not have their final results at the time of counselling, will be given provisional admission, on the basis of production of their previous mark sheets/grade cards of all previous semester/annual examinations at their Bachelor’s level.
- Therefore the candidate must secure the minimum required percentage of marks/CGPA in Hons./major subject as per the following table in his/her B.A. (Hons) / B.Sc. (Hons) exam for final and confirmed admission.

– Candidates may apply online and register for PUMDET even before the publication of their B.A. (Hons)/B.Sc. (Hons) result. After publication of their result, they should visit the online application website again, login and review their eligibility criteria as given below.

Marking Scheme –
- Correct response will yield 2 (two) marks.
- Incorrect response will yield -1/2 (25% negative) marks.
- For any combination of response with more than one option, even if it contains the correct option, the answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -1/2 (25% negative) marks.

Paper Pattern
* The MCQ test will be a qualifying test. Papers of the written test will be evaluated for only those candidates, who qualify in the MCQ test. Scripts of written examination will be evaluated for a maximum number of 10 times the total seat capacity with bunching effect. Marks of MCQ test will not be considered for preparation of the merit list.
– MCQ means Multiple Choice Questions.
– All multiple choice questions will have four answer options; only one of them being correct.
– Correct response will fetch full marks
– No response will fetch zero marks.
– Wrong response or multiple responses will fetch negative one-fourth (- ¼ the) of the full mark (for example if full mark for the question is 2 then it will fetch -½).
For the academic session of 2023-24, the Board is going to conduct the Common Entrance Test (PUMDET-2023) for admission in M.A./M. Sc. courses in the Presidency University in OPEN quota (Non-PU quota) seats. Candidates can apply for any one of the following paper for admission to the respective course(s).
