Applications are invited for admission into the Ph.D. Programme at Palamuru University, Mahabubnagar, categorized as follows:

Category A:

  • Candidates holding ICSSR/RGNF/MANF/DST-INSPIRE/NIN-JRF/ICAR/IICT-JRF awarded by national level bodies/institutes, Project Fellows, etc., are directly eligible for admission into the Ph.D. Program.
  • Eligible disciplines include Faculty of Arts (English & Political Science), Science (Chemistry & Microbiology), Physical Education, and Pharmacy.

Category B:

  • Candidates with NET/TSSET qualification are eligible to apply for admission into the Ph.D. Program.
  • Additionally, candidates with an M.Phil. or an equivalent degree from a recognized University are eligible for admission into the Ph.D. Program.
  • Eligible disciplines include Faculty of Arts (English & Political Science), Science (Chemistry & Microbiology), Physical Education, and Pharmacy.
  • These admissions are for the academic years 2022-23 & 2023-24.

Eligibility Criteria

Admission to the Ph.D. programs in all faculties (as mentioned above) is open to both Full-Time and Part-Time candidates, provided they meet the following requirements:

  1. Candidates must hold a Postgraduate Degree from a recognized University in the concerned subject or in an allied subject approved by the University, with a minimum of 55% marks at the Postgraduate level. For SC/ST candidates, a minimum of 50% marks is required.
  2. If the results of the Postgraduate Degree are declared in the form of grades/credits/cumulative grade point average on their marks cards/transcripts, such grades/points shall be converted into a percentage of marks to assess the minimum eligibility criteria.
  3. Candidates must have been awarded a research fellowship through a national level test such as UGC-CSIR/ICMR/ICAR/DBT/JRF fellowship, or Teacher Fellowship applicants subject to clearance by the RAC, PU. Alternatively:
    • Candidates who do not have any fellowship but have cleared qualifying exams like NET/TSET/GATE/JEST etc., are directly admitted into the Ph.D. program, subject to clearance by the RAC, PU.
    • Candidates with ICSSR/RGNF/MANF/DST-INSPIRE/NIN-JRF/ICAR/IICT-JRF awarded by national level bodies/institutes, Project Fellows, etc., having NET/TSET/GATE/Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) or any other equivalent Ph.D. eligibility test qualification, are also admitted directly to the Ph.D. program. Those with any fellowship but without eligibility test qualification are also admitted directly, subject to the condition that they must clear NET/TSET/other Ph.D. Eligibility Test recognized by PU within two years from the date of admission into the Ph.D. program.
  4. Candidates with an M.Phil. or an equivalent degree from a recognized University are eligible for direct admission into the Ph.D. program.

Admission/Registration Procedure:

  • Candidates who have been awarded a research fellowship in a national level test such as UGC/CSIR/ICMR/ICAR/DBT/JRF fellowship, as well as Teacher Fellowship applicants, are directly admitted into the Ph.D. program.
  • Candidates with ICSSR/RGNF/MANF/DST-INSPIRE/NIN-JRF/IICT-JRF or SRF awarded by national level bodies/institutes, Project Fellows, etc., having NET/TSET/Ph.D. eligibility test qualification, are also admitted directly into the Ph.D. program.
  • Those who do not have any eligibility test qualification are also admitted directly into Ph.D. programs, provided they clear NET/TSET/Ph.D. Eligibility Test (as recognized by PU) within two years from the date of admission into the Ph.D. program.

Application Process

  • Eligible candidates are requested to obtain an application form for admission into the Ph.D. Program from the University website www.palamuruuniversity.ac.in.
  • The duly filled application form, along with the following enclosures, should be submitted at the Office of the Registrar, Palamuru University, Mahabubnagar, on or before 23-03-2024 during office hours (10:30 AM to 4:30 PM) on any working day.

Enclosures

  1. Demand Draft (DD)/RTGS/NEFT (Account No: 62070795208, SBI Ganesh Nagar IFSC Code: SBIN0016375) of Rs.2000/- for OC and OBC Students (Rs.1000/- for ST/SC), drawn in favor of Registrar, Palamuru University, payable at SBI Ganesh Nagar Branch, Mahabubnagar, from any Nationalized Bank.
  2. Three copies of the synopsis of the proposed research topic.
  3. Two sets of photocopies of Mark Memo and all certificates from SSC to PG.
  4. Photocopies of eligibility letter (JRF awarded/Equivalent National Fellowship).
  5. Photocopy of the Latest Caste Certificate (If Applicable).
  6. Recent Passport color Photographs & Photocopies of Aadhaar Card.
