NIT Silchar offers two-year full-time M.Sc programmes in the disciplines of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Admission to the MSc programmes at National Institute of Technology Silchar is done basis JAM score followed by CCMN counselling.

Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelors’ Degree (at least 10+2+3) in Science with the appropriate subject as one of the subjects for at least two years/four semesters (e.g. Physics for M.Sc. in Physics), and a minimum score of 55% or 6.0 CPI/CGPA in a 10 point scale either as aggregate or in honours/major subject. A relaxation of 5% marks or 0.5 CPI/CGPA may be extended to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories. However, the concerned Departments may specify additional requirements over and above these minimum requirements.
