The National Institute of Technology, Agartala, invites applications for Admission to the PhD Program for the January–June 2024 Session. Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply for PhD programs in the Departments of Science, Engineering, Management, Humanities & Social Sciences at NIT Agartala for the academic session of January-June 2024.

Eligibility Criteria:
Admission to PhD program in Engineering Departments:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 out of a 10-point grading system or equivalent 65% marks. Preference to GATE qualified candidates.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology from a centrally funded Technical Institute with a CGPA of at least 9.0 out of a 10-point grading system or equivalent 90% marks. Must have a valid GATE score.
- Master’s Degree in a relevant science diand to apply online, pleasescipline with a minimum CGPA of 6.5. Preference to GATE qualified candidates.
Admission to PhD Program in Science Department:
- Master’s degree in Sciences with a minimum of 65% marks or equivalent or 6.5 CGPA. Preference to GATE/NET qualified candidates.
- Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology with a minimum CGPA of 6.5. Preference to GATE qualified candidates.
- BTech/BE degree from a centrally funded technical institute with a minimum CGPA of 9.0. Must have a valid GATE score.
Admission to PhD program in Humanities & Social Sciences:
- Scholars must have a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 65% marks or equivalent or 6.5 CGPA. Preference to NET qualified candidates.
Admission to PhD programme in Management:
- MBA/PG Diploma in Management of 2 years duration with 65% marks or a CGPA of 6.5. Preference to GATE/NET qualified candidates.
Application Process:
- Non-refundable fee: Rs. 500/- (for OP/OBC/EWS), Rs. 300/- (for SC/ST).
- Apply online at https://www.nita.ac.in/
- Separate registration and application fee for each program.
- After registration, Application ID and Password will be sent to the provided email.
- Login to the Admission Portal for form filling and pay application fees online.
- A filled-in PDF format form will be generated after submission.
Selection Procedure:
- Shortlisting based on eligibility criteria.
- Shortlisted candidates will undergo a written test and interview in the concerned department.
- Selection based on performance in the written test, interview, and seat availability.
