NIEPA PhD Admission 2024 – The National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), a Deemed University fully funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, is inviting applications from eligible candidates for admission to its PhD program (Full-time and Part-time) for the academic year 2024-25.

Eligibility Criteria
PhD (Full-time) Program:
To be eligible for admission to the PhD (full-time) program, a candidate must fulfill the following criteria as mentioned in paragraphs (a) and (b) above:
(c) The candidate must hold an M.Phil. Degree in a field closely related to Educational Planning and Administration, or demonstrate an outstanding academic record along with publications of high quality.
(d) M.Phil. graduates seeking admission to the PhD program must achieve a FGPA of 5 or above on the ten-point scale, subject to scrutiny by the Admission Committee.
Part-time Program:
Candidates applying for admission to the Part-time PhD program must satisfy the following requirements:
(i) Fulfill the eligibility criteria outlined in paragraph 3.1 (a & b) above; (ii) Currently employed full-time; (iii) Hold a senior-level position in education with a minimum of five years of experience in teaching or research in educational policy, planning, and administration.
Note: All part-time and full-time scholars are required to complete one year of full-time coursework.
Application Process:
Candidates are required to apply online using the prescribed Google form for admission to the PhD program at the Institute. A printed copy of the filled Google form must be submitted along with the necessary documents (as listed in the prospectus) and three copies of a brief write-up (in the prescribed format) on the proposed research topic addressing contemporary issues within the broad framework of Educational Policy, Planning, and Administration.

Selection Process:
Initial shortlisting of applications will be based on the eligibility criteria mentioned above. Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo a written test, and those who qualify in the written test will be interviewed to assess their potential. The final list of selected candidates will be prepared based on merit.
NIEPA will adhere to all mandatory provisions of the Government of India’s reservation policy. Admissions to the PhD (Full Time) and PhD (Part-time) programs will be strictly merit-based following the Institute’s prescribed criteria.
The Institute reserves the right to determine the number of seats to be filled in the academic year 2024-25, as well as the criteria for screening applications and the selection procedure for admission to its PhD program.
Fellowships:
All candidates selected for the integrated M.Phil-PhD and PhD (Full-time) programs will be offered NIEPA fellowships. NET qualified candidates who have been awarded Junior Research Fellowship by the UGC and meet the required qualifications are encouraged to apply for UGC fellowship. However, part-time PhD candidates are not eligible for any fellowship.
