Eligibility Criteria
For Indian Students
- Students who are in possession of recognized post graduate medical Degree/Provisional Pass Certificate (MD/MS/DM/MCh/ DNB/Dr NB) or an equivalent recognized qualification or likely to be in possession of the same by 31st December 2023 in accordance with eligible
- Students found to be ineligible at any stage of FET 2024 will not be permitted to appear in the exam
- In an unlikely event of any ineligible student appearing and/or being successful in FET 2024, the result/candidature of such student shall be cancelled and/or is deemed to be cancelled as and when the ineligibility is detected.
- The cutoff date for qualifying MD/MS/DM/MCh/DNB/DrNB qualification towards determination of eligibility for appearing in FET 2024 shall be 31st December 2023
- There is no upper age limit for training in NBEMS Fellowship courses
Application Process
- Application for FET 2024-FPIS can only be submitted online through the National Board of Exams website www.nbe.edu.in
- There is no other methodology for application submission. Application submitted through any other mode shall be summarily rejected.
- Candidates may note that there is no option for submitting the form other than the online mode, offline applications or printed copies will not be accepted.
- Students who fail to submit duly completed applications with requisite documents and/or fail to rectify the deficiencies in the application by the last date prescribed for rectification shall be declared ineligible. Admit Card shall not be issued to students who are declared ineligible.
- Before filling the on-line application form, read the information booklet and instructions for filling on-line application forms etc. very carefully.
New User Registration
- All students desirous of applying for FET 2024-FPIS shall be required to create an online profile of themselves to generate a UserID and Password.
Applicant Login
- This User ID and Password so created will allow the student to login as an applicant for FET 2024-FPIS and register an online application. The “Go To Application” link will allow the student to continue with the application submission immediately after user creation
Examination Fee
- Examination Fee for Indian Students – Rs. 4250
- Examination Fee for International Students– Rs. 44250 (Examination Fee of Rs. 37500 + 18% GST)
Applications forms once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Fee shall neither be carried forward to a future date nor refunded under any circumstances. Application once submitted cannot be withdrawn.
Any claim for refund, adjustment or carrying forward of Application fee will not be entertained
How to pay: The prescribed exam fee should be remitted through payment gateway provided using a Credit Card or a Debit Card issued by banks in India or other modes as may be made available and have been provided on the web page. Fee can not be deposited through any mode other than the payment gateway available while submitting online application form submission
Selection Process
- Selection of a student will be through a MCQ based examination namely Fellowship Entrance Test.

The exact venue will be informed to the students through admit cards. The Students shall make their own arrangement for travel/ boarding etc.
Admit Card
- Admit Card: Admit cards shall be made live on National Board of Examination website https://nbe.edu.in on February 2024. Admit cards will not be issued to students found ineligible.
- Students will be informed through SMS/Email alerts and website notice regarding availability of the admit card on National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences website. Admit card will not be sent to the students by Post/Email.
- Students are required to download their admit card from the NBEMS website and affix firmly their recent passport size photograph in the space provided on the admit card. The photograph must meet following specifications.
Counseling
The admission to Fellowship courses in the accredited hospitals shall be undertaken solely on the basis of merit based counselling conducted by NBEMS. Details of counselling process shall be notified in due course after result of the entrance examination has been declared.
Documents Required To Be Produced At The Time Of Counseling
Indian Students:
- MBBS Degree Certificate
- MD/MS/DNB/DM/MCh/DrNB Degree Certificate/Provisional Pass Certificate of eligible Post Graduate Medical Qualification issued on or before 31st December 2031.
- Following documents supporting post graduate qualification being recognized as perthe provisions of the NMC act, 2019/ IMCAct 1956:
- Self attested copy of print-out of NMC website confirming to your additional PG Degree qualification being “Recognized” as per NMC/IMC Act.
- If additional PG degree qualification is NOT listed as “Recognized” on NMC website, please produce one of the following two documents:
- Additional Qualification Registration Certificate (AQRC) issued by NMC, OR
- Additional Qualification Registration Certificate (AQRC) ssued by State Medical Council + IMR Certificate issued by NMC wherein said additional PG Degree qualification is registered
FET – 2024
International Students:
- MBBS/Primary Medical Qualification Degree Certificate
- Degree Certificate of eligible Post Graduate Medical Qualification issued on or before 31st December 2023.
- Post Graduate Medical Qualification Registration Certificate issued by the Medical Council of respective country.
- No Objection Certificate issued by the Medical Council/Government for permission to work in India for the period of Fellowship
- Security Clearance obtained from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India (Applicable for all those who are required to have security clearance as per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) requirements)
- Valid travel document (Passport) and valid permission (visa).
- “No Objection Certificate” from their Medical council /Government for appearing in the examination and permission for working in India for the period of Fellowship.
Temporary Registration with the National Medical Commission, New Delhi, India for the duration of FNB course shall be required to be obtained on allotment of a FNB seat.
