KEAM (Kerala Engineering, Agriculture and Medical) is a state level entrance examination for the admission to Admission to Professional Degree Courses in various colleges in Kerala. The KEAM is conducted by the CEE (Commissioner of Entrance Examination) Kerala. The examination is also known as the CEE Kerala exam. Besides Kerala, it is also conducted on the various test centres like Delhi, Mumbai, Ranchi, Shillong and Dubai (UAE). KEAM !year is conducted for the admission to various UG courses like MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, BSMS, B.Sc (Forestry), B.Sc (honors) agriculture, B.VSc (animal Husbandry), B.FSc and B.Tech (in all regular branches including agriculture, food engineering and dairy science and technology).

Eligibility Criteria
- Students must go through the KEAM Eligibility criteria given below before applying:
- Nationality: Citizen of India/ Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
- Nativity: Applicants should be Indian citizens. OCI/ PIO are also eligible to apply. Candidates seeking admission to Professional Degree Courses will be categorized as Keralite, Non-Keralite Category I (NK-I), and Non-Keralite Category II (NK-II).
Academic Qualification
- Academic eligibility for admission to various courses is stipulated as per the existing guidelines issued by the Central Councils concerned.
Medical & Medical Allied Courses:
- Medical courses consist of MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BSMS, and BUMS courses, and Medical Allied courses consist of B.Sc.(Hons) Agriculture, B.Sc.(Hons) Forestry, B.Sc.(Hons)Co-operation & Banking, B.Sc.(Hons) Climate Change & Environmental Science, B.Tech Biotechnology (under (KAU), BVSc. & AH and BFSc. courses.
- For admission to MBBS, BDS Courses: Candidates who have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually at the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examinations recognized equivalent thereto and obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology are eligible.
- For admission to BAMS/ BHMS courses: Candidates who have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually at the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examinations recognized equivalent thereto and obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible.
- For admission to BSMS course: Candidates who have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English individually at the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examinations recognized eqwp-admin/uivalent thereto and obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible. The candidates should have passed 10th or 12th standard with Tamil as one of the languages or the candidate after being admitted to the BSMS course, shall have to pass the Tamil language course during the first year of their professional degree course.
- For admission to BUMS course: Candidates who have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English individually at the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examinations recognized equivalent thereto and obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible. The candidates should have passed 10th or 12th standard with Urdu or Arabwp-admin/wp-admin/ic or Persian language as a subject or clear the test of Urdu in the Entrance Examinations conducted by University or Board or Registered society authorized by the Govt. to conduct such examination or the Pre-Tib Examination of one-year duration. Candidates who have not passed Urdu or Arabic or Persian language as one of the subjects in the 10th Standard or in 12th Standard shall have to study Urdu language along with Arabic and Mantiq Wa Falsafa (Logic and Philosophy) as a subject during the First Professional BUMS session.
- For admission to B.Sc.(Hons.) Agri., B.Sc.(Hons) Forestry, B.Sc (Hons.) Cooperation & Banking, B.Tech Biotechnology (under (KAU), BFSc courses: Candidates who have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together are eligible.
- For admission to B.Sc.(Hons) Climate Change & Environmental Science: Candidates who have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together are eligible. Candidates should have studied Mathematics as a subject in the Plus Two level.
- For admission to BVSc. & AH Course: Candidates who have passed in the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology at the qualifying examination and obtained 50% marks in aggregate of these subjects are eligible.
Engineering courses:
- [Including B.Tech (Agri. Engg.) and B.Tech (Food Technology) courses under the Kerala Agricultural University, B.Tech (Dairy Technology) and B.Tech (Food Technology) courses under Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University and B.Tech (Food Technology) courses under Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies].
- Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry as one of the optional subjects with at least 45% marks put together in the above subjects are eligible for admission. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, the marks obtained in Computer Science shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry and Computer Science the marks obtained in Biotechnology shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, Computer Science and Biotechnology the marks obtained in Biology shall be considered. The marks as shown in the mark list of the Board of Examination obtained from the respective Higher Secondary Board shall be considered for academic eligibility.
Architecture course:
- a. Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics as compulsory subjects or passed 10+3 Diploma Examinations with Mathematics as compulsory subject are eligible for Architecture course.
- b. In addition to the academic eligibility prescribed under clause 6.2.3 (a), only those candidates who score the minimum eligibility marks as per the Information Brochure of National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 2022 will be considered for
- admission to B. Arch. course. There is no relaxation in the minimum passing score of NATA to any category of candidate as per letter No. CA/5/Academic-NATA dated 11.03.2008. The candidates are advised to qualify in NATA on or before 31.07.2022.
- c. There is no provision for lateral admission to the second year or at any stage during the 5 year course in Architecture.
B.Pharm course:
- Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or Examinations equivalent thereto with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology as optional subjects individually are eligible.
Age Limit
- Applicants should have completed 17 years of age as on the 31st December 2022. No relaxation in the minimum age will be allowed. There is no upper age limit for Engineering, Architecture and B.Pharm Courses. For Medical and Medical Allied courses, the upper age limit will be as per the Information Bulletin of NEET (UG).
Application Process
- Candidates satisfying the eligibility conditions as laid down in the Prospectus and who seek admission to any or all of the above-mentioned courses have to apply online through the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in
- Candidates should upload recent Photos, Signatures, Dates of Birth proof, and Nativity proof along with the Online application within the above date.
- The other eligibility certificates and documents can be submitted up to 21st June 2022 (5.00 pm)
Admission Procedure
Admission to Engineering courses shall be regulated on the basis of merit as assessed by giving equal weightage of 50:50 to the marks obtained in the Entrance Examination for Engineering (Paper I & Paper II put together), and the grade/marks obtained for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together in the final year of the qualifying examination, after effecting the standardization procedure as described in Clause 9.7.4(b), for computing the Index mark out of 600. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, the marks obtained in Computer Science shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry and Computer Science, the marks obtained in Biotechnology shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, Computer Science and Biotechnology, the marks obtainedin Biology shall be considered. The marks as shown in the mark list obtained from the Board of Examination of respective Higher Secondary Board shall be considered for academic eligibility.
For admission to the Architecture course, the merit as assessed by giving equal weightage to the marks obtained in the ‘National Aptitude Test in Architecture’ [NATA], conducted by the Council of Architecture (CoA), and the grade/marks in the qualifying examination will be the criterion. [As per directives of the Council of Architecture, India.]
Admission to Medical courses, Agriculture, Co-operation & Banking, Climate Change & Environmental Science, B.Tech Biotechnology (Under Kerala Agricultural University), Forestry, Veterinary and Fisheries courses are regulated on the basis of merit as assessed in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG !year) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Admission to the B.Pharm course is regulated on the basis of marks obtained in the Paper-I (Physics & Chemistry) of the Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination and the rank list prepared based on this as in clause 9.7.4(f).

- Candidates desirous of being considered for any of the Medical & Allied courses including MBBS/BDS will have to write NEET-UG 2022 conducted by the CBSE.
- Candidates who wish to be considered only for B.Pharm course will have to write Paper-I (Physics & Chemistry) of the Engineering Entrance Exam.

- For Engineering and Medical Entrance Examinations, each Paper will have 120 questions to be answered in 150 minutes.
- For each correct response in the Engineering and Medical Entrance Examinations, the candidates will be awarded FOUR marks
- For each incorrect response, ONE mark will be deducted from the total score.
- For No response, there will be no deduction
