The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) conducts the Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS). This common entrance exam facilitates admission to Integrated M.Sc-Ph.D, M.Sc, and PhD programs. The TIFR Nationwide Entrance Examination (GS 2024) for Biology, also known as JGEEBILS, is conducted in a computer-based format. It lasts for 2 hours and 30 minutes and takes place across 59 cities. The exam comprises 60 questions covering general subjects, physics, chemistry, and biology. Each correct answer in Section A earns 1 mark, while correct answers in Section B earn 2 marks. Each incorrect answer results in a deduction of 0.5 marks.
Admission to PhD, Integrated Ph.D., and M.Sc courses through TIFR JGEEBILS requires candidates to take the written test. To secure admission, candidates must participate in this exam. Each participating institution uses the JGEEBILS score as part of their admission process, but they have individual admission procedures. Therefore, students must apply separately to each JGEEBILS participating institution through the respective institution’s website.

Eligibility Criteria
For Ph.D.: Masters in Basic Science (M.Sc. Physics/Chemistry/Any branch of Biology) or any professional Master’s Degree (M.Pharma./M.Tech.), or a > 4 year degree program (e.g. MBBS, BDS).
For I-Ph.D./M.Sc.: Bachelors in any Basic Science (Physics/Chemistry/Any branch of Biology) OR any 4-year degree program that awards a “Bachelor’s degree” including B.Tech., B.E., B.V.Sc., B.Pharma. (4 year course).

How to Apply
Candidates can apply for it via online mode (after release of official notification for JGEEBILS 2024) and for that they have to visit the official site. Once you reach at home page then click on “Applying for Biology” and fill all the important details regarding it. Walk-In Candidates: Some candidates will be admitted without applying for it.

Syllabus
There is no specified syllabus and the test will be extremely basic and cover topics in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology.
Admit Card / Hall Ticket
The candidate should verify all the information in the admit card. If any issue is found, then get it corrected with the concerned authority.
The candidates are required to carry the admit card to the examination hall. Without it, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. It is also very important to document for the further admission processes. Revise your basics, that is all.
The interview will be based on whatever area you are most interested and comfortable in.
Results
=> After All The Question Booklets And OMR Response Sheets of TIFR GS 2024 exam are received by the TIFR the evaluation shall be done using OMR machine.
=> After Evaluation, Result shall be declared Rank-Wise, Roll No Wise And Categoary Wise.
=> The ranking Shall be solely based on the result of TIFR GS 2024 and shall not be valid for admission.
=> This Ranking Will be drawn to give an approximate idea to the candidate with regard to his/her relative position only based on TIFR GS 2024.
=> TIFR GS Result 2024 will be available on Tata Institute of Fundamental Research.
