About Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI CET) January 2027 Session
The Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI CET) is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi for postgraduate medical and dental admissions at participating Institutes of National Importance. Eligibility criteria
Eligibility depends on the course and the candidate's category. In general, MD/MS and six-year DM/M.Ch. applicants need a recognised MBBS qualification; MDS applicants need a recognised BDS qualification. Previous AIIMS prospectus criteria have required at least 55% aggregate marks for General/OBC/EWS candidates and 50% for SC/ST candidates, along with completion of the prescribed rotating internship by the session-specific deadline. Valid registration with the appropriate medical or dental council is also required. These thresholds and deadlines are not a substitute for the January 2027 prospectus: applicants must check its exact qualification, internship cut-off, registration and category rules before applying.
Application fee
Earlier INI CET application information listed an examination fee of ₹4,000 for General/OBC and foreign-national/OCI applicants, ₹3,200 for SC/ST/EWS applicants, and an exemption for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). Exam pattern and marking
Previous INI CET prospectuses describe a three-hour computer-based test with 200 objective questions and a maximum score of 200. Question formats may include single- and multiple-correct response types. The commonly published marking rule is +1 for a correct response, −1/3 for an incorrect response and 0 for an unattempted question. Qualifying percentile and admission
Earlier prospectuses have specified minimum qualifying percentiles of 50th percentile for Unreserved, EWS, sponsored and foreign-national/OCI candidates, and 45th percentile for OBC, SC, ST, PwBD and specified Bhutanese candidates. Qualifying is not a guarantee of a seat: admission depends on rank, applicable reservation, programme eligibility, seat availability and the counselling process.
