About IIT Mandi
The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) is one of the eight new Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). IIT Mandi comprises nine schools, such as the School of Computing and Electrical Engineering, School of Basic Sciences, School of Engineering, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, among others. The institute offers a wide range of academic programs including undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and integrated programs.

Eligibility Criteria
CATEGORY 1:
For GN/OBC (NCL)/EWS Indian national applicants: A minimum of 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale or 65% marks in a full-time bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years or a full-time Master’s degree of minimum 2 years from any of the Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) / any of the top 100 institutes according to NIRF ranking 2023 (overall category). CAT requirement is exempted for such candidates. Mathematics at +2 level (or equivalent) is mandatory.
For SC/ST/PwD Indian national applicants: A minimum of 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale or 60% marks in a full-time bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years or a full-time Master’s degree of minimum 2 years from any of the Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) / any of the top 100 institutes according to NIRF ranking 2023 (overall category). CAT requirement is exempted for such candidates. Mathematics at +2 level (or equivalent) is mandatory.
CATEGORY 2:
For Indian national applicants: A valid CAT score obtained in 2023. Additionally,
- For GN/OBC (CL)/EWS: Minimum of 6 CGPA on a 10-point scale or 60% marks.
- For SC/ST/PwD/OBC(NCL): Minimum of 5.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale or 55% marks. Mathematics at +2 level (or equivalent) is mandatory.
NOTES:
- A 5-year integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s degree is considered equivalent to a 4-year Bachelor’s degree.
- Applicants appearing for the final degree examination can also apply, provided they meet the minimum eligibility criteria at the time of joining.
- Foreign applicants/NRIs need a GMAT score obtained in 2023 and must have studied Mathematics at +2 level (or equivalent).
Shortlisting Criteria:
- Category 1 applicants will be shortlisted based on previous academic records and work experience.
- Category 2 applicants will be shortlisted based on CAT score, previous academic records, and work experience.
- Foreign national/NRI candidates will be shortlisted based on GMAT score, previous academic records, and work experience.
- The selection process may involve online/in-person interviews and/or other selection methods.
- The school reserves the right to make changes to the selection process and select or not select any candidate.
