The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu is calling for applications for admission to its full-time Regular (offline) MTech programs for the session 2024-25 (commencing in July/August 2024). Eligibility Criteria
- M.Tech in Civil Engineering with specialization in Tunnel Engineering:
- General category candidates must have a minimum of 65% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA in B.E./B.Tech./AMIE Civil Engineering.
- SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PWD candidates are eligible with a relaxation of 5% or 0.5 CGPA from the above criterion.
- Valid GATE score card with GATE paper code CE is required.
- Candidates meeting the criteria may be called for a written exam followed by an interview. Selection will be based on performance in both.
- M.Tech in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering:
- Same eligibility criteria as above apply.
- Valid GATE score card with GATE paper code CE is required.
- Candidates may be called for a written exam followed by an interview, and selection will be based on performance in both.
- M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering:
- Qualifying degrees accepted: B.Tech/B.E./M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, and Statistics.
- Minimum GATE Score: 300 (200 for SC/ST category) with specializations in CS, EC, MA, and ST.
- AMIE or Grad IETE qualifications are also considered, subject to completion of 24 valid credits specified by concerned DPGC along with a valid GATE score.
- General category candidates should have a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or a minimum 6.0 CGPA. Relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/OBC NCL/PWD/EWS candidates.
- Candidates meeting the primary screening criteria may undergo further technical rounds of tests and/or interviews for selection.
- M.Tech in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Communication and Signal Processing:
- Eligible degrees: BE/B.Tech./MSc in Electronics Engineering/Electronics and Communication Engineering/Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering/Electrical and Electronics Engineering/Electronics and Telecommunication/Electrical Engineering/allied streams with 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.
- Valid GATE Score card with EC paper code and minimum score requirement (300 for general, 200 for SC/ST/PWD category).
- Selection involves screening based on B.E./B.Tech. marks and GATE score, followed by a written test and/or interview.
- M.Tech in Electrical Engineering with specialization in VLSI Design:
- Same eligibility criteria as above apply.
- Selection process includes screening based on B.E./B.Tech. marks and GATE score, followed by a written test and/or interview.
- M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Thermal and Energy System:
- Eligible degrees: B.E./B.Tech./A.M.I.E. in Mechanical/Aerospace/Aeronautical/Chemical Engineering/MSc. (Physics) with relevant courses.
- General category candidates should have a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or a minimum 6.0 CGPA. Relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/OBC NCL/PWD/EWS candidates.
- Valid GATE score in Mechanical Engineering (ME) or in Engineering Sciences (XE) papers (with both Fluid Mechanics (XE-B) and Thermodynamics (XE-F) papers).
- M.Tech in Chemical Engineering with specialization in Sustainable Energy Engineering:
- Eligible degrees: B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering/Chemical Technology/Bio-Chemical Engineering/Energy Engineering/Petroleum Engineering/Nanotechnology & Production Engineering, or MSc in Physics/Chemistry/Nanotechnology/Biochemical/Biochemistry/Polymer, and allied branches.
- General category candidates should have a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or a minimum 6.0 CGPA. Relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PWD/EWS candidates.
- Valid GATE score in Chemical Engineering (CH) or in Petroleum Engineering (PE).
Application Process
- All candidates applying for M.Tech programs must register at the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) at https://iitk.ac.in/coap2024/.
- COAP registration number is mandatory for filling the application form on the IIT Jammu application portal.
- Admission offers will be communicated through the COAP portal.
- The applicant bears responsibility for the accuracy of the information provided.
- IIT Jammu or COAP does not accept responsibility for any inaccuracies provided by the candidates and the resulting consequences.

- For General/Gen-EWS/OBC category : Rs.300/-
