Eligibility Criteria:

PhD in Engineering

  • For candidates with a master’s degree in engineering or an allied discipline, a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the master’s level is required.
  • For candidates with a bachelor’s degree in engineering or an allied discipline, a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the bachelor’s level is required.

PhD in Pharmacy

  • For candidates with a master’s degree in pharmacy or an allied discipline, a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the master’s level is required.
  • For candidates with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the bachelor’s level is required.

PhD in Sciences

  • For candidates with a master’s degree in science or an allied discipline, a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the master’s level is required.
  • For candidates with a four-year bachelor’s degree in science or an allied discipline, a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the bachelor’s level is required.

PhD in Humanistic Studies

  • For candidates with a Master’s degree in a relevant subject or allied subjects, a minimum CPI of 6.00 on a 10.0 point scale (or 60% marks) in the qualifying degree is required.
  • For candidates with a Master’s degree in Science or allied subjects, a minimum CPI of 6.00 on a 10.0 point scale (or 60% marks) in the qualifying degree is required.
  • For candidates with more than two years of professional experience, a minimum requirement of 70% marks or 7.0 CPI (on a 10 point scale) at the bachelor’s level is required if the degree is from a Central Government-funded institution.

PhD in Interdisciplinary/Systems Engineering

  • For candidates with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in any branch of Engineering, a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the master’s level is required.
  • For candidates with a bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering, a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the bachelor’s level is required.

PhD in Industrial Management

  • For candidates with a bachelor’s degree in any branch of engineering and a master’s degree in any branch of engineering/management, a minimum of 60% or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the master’s level is required.
  • For candidates with a bachelor’s degree in any branch of engineering, a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the bachelor’s level is required.

PhD in Bio-chemical Eng/Bio-medical Eng/Materials Sci. & Tech

  • For candidates with a master’s degree in the discipline concerned or an allied discipline, a minimum of 60% or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the master’s level is required.
  • For candidates with a bachelor’s degree in the discipline concerned or an allied discipline, a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the bachelor’s level is required.

Reservations for SC/ST/OBC Candidates:

  • In each discipline, 15% of seats are reserved for SC, 7.5% for ST, and 27% for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates.
  • SC/ST/OBC candidates must meet the eligibility requirements for admission. However, suitability for the program is assessed, and SC/ST/OBC candidates are not compared with other categories.
  • A relaxation of 5% marks or 0.5 CPI (on a 10-point scale) is granted to SC and ST candidates in the admission based on the marks obtained in the qualifying degree.

Application Process:

Instructions for filling the Form:

Step 1: Register into the admission portal

  • Applicants MUST REGISTER into the admission portal to submit the application online.
  • Click on the “Register” link to open the registration page. Enter your valid Email address and create an eight-character password. All correspondence related to your application will be sent to the provided email ID.
  • After successful registration, the login credentials (username and password) will be emailed to your Email ID. Check your “Spam” folder if you do not find the email in your “Inbox.”

Step 2: Fill in your Personal Details and Upload your photograph and signature

  • Enter your Full name, Father’s name, Mother’s Name, and Date of birth as per your High School Certificate.
  • Select your Gender, Nationality, and Category from the drop-lists and indicate (yes or no) for Physically challenged.
  • Enter your 10-digit Mobile number and provide both Correspondence and Permanent addresses. Avoid using single (‘) or double quote (“) symbols in the address fields.
  • Upload your color photograph and signature (File size of each should be less than 50kb) by clicking the appropriate “Browse” button. You can replace or modify the images before submitting the form if needed.

Step 3: Pay Online the Application Processing Fee

  • The application processing fee is Rs. 500/- for GEN/OBC/EWS candidates and Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/Physically Disabled candidates.
  • The fee should be paid online only and is non-refundable.

Selection Criteria:

Admission is based on interviews of candidates shortlisted by the respective Department/School. Applicants in the following categories are exempt from appearing in the written test:

  • Full-Time External Registration Category
  • Sponsored Registration Category
  • Part-time Registration Category
  • Candidates with National Level Scholarships
