Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur is inviting online applications for admission to its Doctoral Programme (PhD) for the academic session 2024-28. The program aims to cultivate contextually relevant and socially conscious academicians and researchers aspiring to achieve thought leadership in management fields. The duration of the program is four years, with the initial two years dedicated to coursework, culminating in a comprehensive assessment.
Participants will then embark on thesis work for the remaining duration under the guidance of an advisory committee.

Eligibility Criteria

Additional Requirements
- The Master’s degree or equivalent qualification/Bachelor’s degree should be from:
- Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India,
- Educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared as deemed universities under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or
- Institutions recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India or approved by AICTE.
- Candidates in the final year of their Master’s/Bachelor’s Programmes can also apply provisionally. They must submit a certificate by 31st May 2024 from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar or Director of the university/institute, stating their examination status and fulfilling eligibility criteria.
- Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PWD categories will receive a relaxation of 5% or equivalent for the minimum qualifying marks.
- Reservations will be applicable as per the Government of India norms.
Application Process
- Interested candidates must apply online via the following link: https://admissions.iimnagpur.ac.in/.
- Candidates are required to fill out the application form online.
- Each candidate can apply for a maximum of two areas of specialization.
- The application fee is INR 1,000 for applying to a single area and INR 1,500 for applying to two areas.
Documents to be Uploaded:
- Copy of the latest exam score certificate.
- Attested copies of all academic mark sheets/certificates and Degree of Graduation/Post Graduation.
- Caste certificate (if applicable).
- DAP certificate (if applicable).
- Documents related to work experience (if applicable).
- Documents related to research/academic output (if applicable).
All relevant documents must be uploaded according to the provided instructions while completing the online application form.
Selection Process
Stage 1:
- Candidates are required to fill a detailed application form within the specified date (refer to the IIM Nagpur website for important dates and updates).
- Initial screening will be conducted to assess candidates’ eligibility and adherence to requirements for the Ph.D. admission process at IIM Nagpur.
Stage 2:
- Only candidates meeting the eligibility criteria will proceed to the next stage.
- Shortlisting for Personal Interviews (PIs) will be based on eligibility criteria.
- Shortlisted candidates will receive notification via email.
Stage 3:
- Candidates accepting the email invitation for PI will attend interviews.
- Candidates called for PI will undergo area-led PI followed by program-led PI.
- If a candidate applied for two areas of specialization, they must attend interviews for each area.
Stage 4:
- Candidates who participate in the PI stage will be considered for further evaluation.
- Admission offers will be extended to successful candidates.
