CUET Exam Pattern – UG

📚 Section I: Language Test (IA & IB)

This section tests your proficiency through reading comprehension and literary aptitude. It is divided into 13 regional languages (IA) and 20 elective languages (IB).

• Reading Comprehension: Based on three types of passages:
  • Factual: Descriptive and data-driven.
  • Literary: Focused on prose or poetry extracts.
  • Narrative: Story-based or biographical.
• Verbal Ability: Rearranging parts, choosing the correct word, and sentence correction.
• Vocabulary: Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms, and Phrases.
• Literary Aptitude: Understanding literary devices and the author’s tone.

🧪 Section II: Domain-Specific Subjects

This section is based strictly on the NCERT Class 12 syllabus. Below are the high-weightage units for major subjects under the revised 2026 pattern:

🧠 Section III: General Test (GT)

This section is optional but mandatory for many professional courses like BBA, BMS, or certain vocational programs.

• General Knowledge: Static GK and Current Affairs.
• Mental Ability: General Mental Ability and Numerical Ability.
• Quantitative Reasoning: Simple applications of basic mathematical concepts (Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Statistics) taught until Grade 8.
• Logical & Analytical Reasoning: Pattern recognition, series, and verbal/non-verbal reasoning.

⚠️ Key Changes for 2026

1. Reduced Domain Subjects: NTA removed subjects like Entrepreneurship and Teaching Aptitude from Section II; these are now covered under the General Test.
2. NCERT Alignment: Outdated chapters (like certain parts of “Random Variables” in Maths) have been removed to reduce the burden on students.
3. Flexibility: You can choose up to 5 subjects in total across all sections.
