CIFNET Entrance Exam 2025 will be conducted on 05 July 2025 decided by CIFNET. Conducted by the Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training (CIFNET), this entrance exam is at the university level and serves as a common entrance test. The purpose of the exam is to facilitate admission to the Vessel Navigator Course (VNC) and Marine Fitter Course (MFC) at the Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training.
To participate in the CIFNET Entrance Exam, prospective candidates are required to register before the specified deadline, obtain their CIFNET Entrance Exam admit card, and, after completing the exam, review the answer key. Subsequently, candidates can check the CIFNET Entrance Exam results.

Eligibility Criteria
The criteria of eligibility is as follows.
The CIFNET (Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training) Entrance Exam is conducted for admission to the following courses:
Bachelor of Fishery Science (Nautical Science) [B.FSc(NS)]
- Eligibility: 10+2 with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- Selection is based on the All India Entrance Examination conducted by CIFNET.
Vessel Navigator Course (VNC) and Marine Fitter Course (MFC)
- Eligibility: 10th standard pass with minimum 40% marks in Mathematics and Science.
- Selection is based on the Entrance Examination conducted by CIFNET.
Additional Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit: 15-20 years as of August 1, 2025. Age relaxation of up to 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
- Physical Fitness: Candidates must be physically fit for strenuous work on board fishing vessels.
- Vision: For Vessel Navigator Course, the candidate should have normal vision without color blindness.
- No age limit for sponsored candidates, but no relaxation in educational qualification.


CIFNET Entrance Exam Pattern
Exam Pattern for Bachelor of Fishery Science (B.FSc) and Vessel Navigator Course (VNC) / Marine Fitter Course (MFC)
- The exam is an objective-type test with multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
- The question paper consists of 5 sections: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and English Language.
- Each section has an equal number of questions.
- The marking scheme is +1 mark for every correct answer and -0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. Unattempted questions carry 0 marks.
- The medium of the exam is English.
Exam Duration and Total Marks
- The total duration of the exam is 3 hours.
- The total number of questions is 150, with 30 questions in each subject.
- The maximum marks for the exam is 150.
The CIFNET Entrance Exam tests the candidates’ knowledge in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and English Language at the 10+2 level. The syllabus covers a wide range of topics from these subjects .
