About BCT

The five–year undergraduate (UG) program in Construction Technology at CEPT University is a unique engineering program focused on creative problem-solving and technological innovation in construction. It is situated within an ecosystem of allied disciplines like architecture, planning and management all of which focus on built environments. It is the only construction technology program in India that is centered on studio teaching. Small groups of students engage with real-life problems under the guidance of studio tutors. To tackle complex problems of the world today, problem solving skills need to be second nature to any working professional. The ‘studio’ style of teaching inculcates problem solving, independent thinking and action-oriented approach among the students and it constitutes the bulk of the academic credits in any given semester. The studios are supported with mandatory courses, electives and skill-enhancing workshops aimed at expanding conceptual, theoretical and analytical abilities of students. The faculty in the program comprises highly experienced academicians with excellent professional and academic rigour. Apart from the full-time faculty members, visiting professors and practicing professionals from the industry regularly teach studios and courses, bringing practical experience to the classroom.

The total intake for the program will be 40.

• Admission to 50% of total seats will be through GUJCET
• Admission to 50% of total seats will be through JEE Mains Paper -1

Eligibility

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics / Information Technology / Biology / Informatics Practices / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational subject / Agriculture / Engineering Graphics / Business Studies / Entrepreneurship (Any of the three) Obtained at least 45% marks in the above subjects taken together. From any board located in India. Should have appeared in JEE Mains Paper-1 or GUJCET.

OR

Passed the Diploma (10+3 pattern) in arts, applied arts, photography, animation, interior design, architecture, architectural assistantship, fashion technology, handloom technology, printing technology, ceramic technology, leather technology, civil, mechanical, production, or automobile, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from the Technical Board of Gujarat or any other state or from a college/university established under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956.

All applicants must also appear for and qualify in the UCEED test to be eligible for admission to the BDES program.

Application Requirements

1. Completed application form.

2. Self-attested mark sheets for 10+2. Applicants who have applied for rechecking should submit the requisite proof.

3. JEE Mains Paper -1 or GUJCET test score.

Evaluation Process

The evaluation of applications and preparation of the merit list will be done in the following stages.

Stage 1: Eligibility Check and Shortlist:

All applications received will be scrutinized for eligibility (as announced) based on information provided/uploaded in the application form. Applicants meeting the eligibility criteria will be considered for Stage 2.

Stage 2: Preparation of Merit List

Two separate merit lists would be prepared for the admissions.

1. Merit List based on JEE Scorecard (For 50% seats)

This merit list would be for students submitting JEE Mains Paper -1 scorecard. In this case, the merit list of all eligible candidates shall be based on JEE All India Rank of the corresponding year.

2. Merit List based on GUJCET Scorecard (For 50% seats)

The GUJCET merit list will be for students submitting GUJCET scorecards. In this case, the merit list of all eligible candidates shall be based on the GUJCET percentile rank of the corresponding year.

Fees

• Tuition Fee for the Academic year 2024-25:  INR  1,60,000/- per semester
• Application fee for each Undergraduate application will be Rs. 1500/- (inclusive of taxes)

Scholarship

CEPT has a comprehensive scheme for scholarship. It is the endeavor of the University that no student be denied opportunity to pursue their studies for want of adequate financial resources. However no financial aid or scholarship would be automatic and will be subject to norms and criteria laid down by the University. Pending sanction of financial aid/award of scholarship students are required to make payment of fees and charges on the due dates.

Graduates of the program are working in multi-national design, infrastructure and construction corporations, consultancies, government agencies, academic and research institutes in India and overseas. Some of them have also started their own construction and technology ventures.
